The ${date} macro equals the ${s_date} macro. This becomes a lot more relevant when you start relaying messages through multiple servers.

The issue is that they are using an older version (rhel 6), and while they have keep_hostnames set to 'yes' (chain_hostnames to 'no'), it's just not working. I have also included my version of ios in case that is a factor.
